Welcome to Exploring Mars, your starting point for Mars science on the Internet. We have designed this site with two goals: to be the best site on the web covering Mars science, and to be a launching point for your web-assisted exploration of Mars. In addition to describing the basic facts about the planet Mars, this site covers the latest news, outlines the history of Mars observations, looks in-depth at Mars science, surveys robotic spacecraft exploration, and contains helpful links to other Mars-related web sites. There are many images and illustrations throughout the site. ExploringMars.com was initiated in February, 1998. Although it started as a collaboration between the JPL Mars Science Office and the University of California, Los Angeles, it is currently run voluntarily by an independent group of Mars scientists and enthusiasts. The web site does presently not have any external financial support, nor is it linked to any school or organization (including NASA). If you have any comments or suggestions on how we can make this web site better, please send us an e-mail at webmaster@exploringmars.com. Please feel free to link to our site from your own. However, all content is the intellectual property of ExploringMars.com and may not be copied or distributed. Credits:
